Happy Holiday’s may the season bring you joy!
It’s that time of year again when we start to wind down from our busy Fall season, prepare for the holidays, and an opportunity to spend quality time with the ones we love, our family and friends. We will soon celebrate the passing of time with the end of one year and the beginning of the New Year. If you are like me, this is a time to decompress, rest up and begin to prepare and plan for a new and busy Spring season. So get some egg nog, put your feet up and relax while you can as we only have so much time for ourselves. Adam and I are at our home in sunny Arizona for the winter relaxing, enjoying golf, soaking up as much sun as possible while occasionally entertaining friends and family.
We are also about to take our first vacation since Covid. Three replacement knees later (1 for Adam and 2 for me) we are ready to do something special! After the first of the year we are going to Cabo San Lucas for a week of more relaxation and sandy beaches! I hope to sleep in, drink rum or tequila beverages on the beach, you know the drinks with those cute little paper umbrellas, maybe even a spa day might be in order. I expect it will be great to share another adventure with my guy. So with that in mind, I will not be reachable from January 4-11. I am not taking my laptop but I will certainly be reading emails as I can and will return any calls on Monday 1/13/25. I was thinking some deep sea fishing might be fun… but then I started getting sea sick thinking about it. 🙁 🤢
Plants West has been working hard these past few months preparing for your spring needs. We have been pruning, spacing, fertilizing, planting in the fields and potting up many wonderful plants to be ready for immediate sales in early spring. We are growing more Japanese Maples in containers verses in the field which saves on labor for us and for you. We have been starting out with a nice caliper young tree which gives us a jump up on our #7 and #10’s. Although we don’t list the Maples by caliper, our container grown varieties are very nice full plants with a substantial caliper for you and your client base to enjoy.
Thankfully we have a good supply of beautiful Emerald Arbs up to 7/8′, Chamacyparis Gracilis 4/5’ and 5/6′, lots of different boxwoods in all sizes, uprights and spreaders and lots of gorgeous Skip Laurels grown in the field or in containers. We are also back on track with Sarcococca Humilis and Fragrant Valley and these are looking fantastic. Unfortunately, we are still limited on Otto Luyken laurels but we do have some container grown and b&b, best to order these right away. In the world of milestones, when you receive your spring availability list from Plants West we will also be celebrating our 30th anniversary, thank you all for fueling our long term success.
In closing, we feel blessed this holiday season with love from and for family, friends near and far and we wish the same for each and every one of you.
Thank you all again!
Alicia
